Yoga for Kids with Wanda Vargas and Michelle Figga Burgroff

Ages 3-8 with Michelle, Sunday September 22nd, 3-4 PM: Join Michelle, as she implements the Kidding Around Yoga method, giving students the opportunity to explore many different yoga poses, creative ways to calm the mind and notice the breath through movement, songs, games, creative play, stories, and art. Children's yoga classes may help increase attentiveness, boost confidence, and develop calming skills.
Class focus will be for children ages 3-8, however children of all ages are welcome to participate. Parents as well as Grandparents are welcome to join the class too. $10 for one child; $15 for two; $20 for 3. Adult family members are free.

New Class! Slow Flow, Friday's at Noon with Lynn Tarsi. Starting September 13th, 12 -1:15PM

Never tried a Flow class? Not sure if it's right for you? Maybe wanting a little slower Flow? This class teaches you how to move from one pose to another. Combining breath with movement for a great workout. A slower Flow class with instruction on all the fundamentals is a great way to get moving and deepen your practice. It works for all levels. Sign up online or in the studio.

Lynn began practicing yoga in 2012 in conjunction with a post-pregnancy exercise routine. While looking for stretching, she found something much more valuable in the span of one class: she realized the SELF in a new way. From this inspiration, she pursued a 200 hour yoga teaching training with Willow Marcotte and Deb Fullerton at Sun Yoga Tampa in 2018. Lynn brings love and passion to her teaching and her personal practice, inviting the calm and quiet of the room, the focus on breath, and the precious minutes of lying quietly to reveal something to her students. Lynn is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher (RYT 200) and looks forward to sharing her yoga practice with others.

Take a break in the middle of your week to stretch, strengthen, balance, and unwind. Find balance, physically and mentally through yoga postures both seated and standing. Bring focus to the breath to relax and be at peace. Let go of stress, whether from everyday life, inactivity, or hyper-activity, or illness. This class is suitable for all levels, bodies, experiences, and backgrounds. When you sign up for the Stress Relief Yoga Series you are making a commitment to your self care and well being. Non Stress Relief Yoga Series students can join using regular class packages. $60 for the series sign up in advance online or in the studio.

Monthly Yoga Nidra Meditation with Willow Marcotte, Sunday, September 15th, 4-5:15 PM

Yoga Nidra, is a guided meditation that involves body sensing, breath awareness along with intention setting. In this full-body relaxation and deep meditative state, experience a profound sense of joy, peacefulness and well-being. This meditation will take you to a place between being awake and asleep where ultimate relaxation resides to deeply connect with your inner world. Clinical research finds that Yoga Nidra can improve sleep, aide in managing chronic pain, assist in healing from trauma and balances the nervous system. You will leave this practice feeling refreshed and renewed. No yoga experience required. Regular class packages apply or $15 single drop in. Sign up in advance online or in the studio.

Acupuncture and Yin Yoga in honor of the Fall Equinox with Leah Lubin & Willow Marcotte Sunday September 29th, 4-5:30 PM

Deepen your connection to the earth, to what you are reaping, and welcome the energy of fall in this nurturing workshop of detoxification and self-care. Join acupuncturist Leah Lubin and Willow Marcotte in a unique afternoon blending the practices of acupuncture, yin yoga and acupressure. This workshop will focus on balancing the elements of Metal and Earth of Traditional Chinese Medicine, strengthening our capacity to let go and allow change. There will be a full yin practice including guided self-acupressure and an auricular acupuncture session to balance and harmonize your mind, body, and spirit. The combination of these modalities will allow the flow of energy (Qi), improve the flexibility of tendons and joints, and foster well-being. The class will end in an extended guided savasana. The workshop is limited to 14 people so sign up soon. Registration is required in advance. No prior experience is necessary. $30 Sign up in advance online or in the studio.
- Auricular Acupuncture is a type of acupuncture that involves stimulating external points on the ear. It can be used to reduce physiological stress, ease anxiety, and maintain mental health.
- Acupressure is applying pressure to various points on the body with similar principles as acupuncture to promote relaxation and wellness.
- Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of modern yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time.

Leah Rose Lubin is an acupuncturist, practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a body worker, and an energy healer. She loves helping others in the process of healing and integrating themselves into wholeness. Her practice is located in Land O Lakes.

Willow Marcotte is an E-RYT 500, YACEP, certified in Yin and Restorative Yoga. Willow invites students to dive into themselves, embracing balance not only on the mat, but in the yoga of life as well.

Sun Yoga Svadhyaya Book Club, Friday, October 18th, 2019 at 6:30

Books have the energy to inspire, heal and transform. This is not your typical book club. We will not only just read the book, but have a meditation, a journal prompt and a discussion to understand our reading more deeply. The book club gatherings will provide an opportunity to engage with a community of like-minded students (Sadakha’s) to share thoughts and ideas allowing each of us to shine our light a little brighter with the group support. Attendance is free of charge. Enjoy light snacks during discussion; feel free to bring a dish to share if so inclined.The book club will meet every other month at 6:30 in the Sun Yoga Tampa studio.
